Good afternoon,

currently I get the "install latest version , adobe "flashplayer" on all of the sites which are using flash...however when downloading upgrade and/or uninstall reinstall will get the same message ..
worked fine 1day ago, in addition MS Silverlight which works with some live broadband tells me the same message ..
kinda strange and not sure if dealing with malicious objects or corrupted files ..need expert help here ...thanks from the rainy east coast USA ..

Well, in IE10, Microsoft limits which websites use Flash, and Silverlight. Although you can edit the white list like this.

thanks..looks like a headache...qwik question :

I am getting tired of IE with all its problems , which one would be better to use , firefox or google chrome ??

which one would be better to use , firefox or google chrome ??
Yes. [bigsmile]

The only reason to use IE is laziness (of the user or the web application developer). Choosing another browser like Chrome or Firefox will allow a much better online experience as these other browsers support standards better than IE. You can also use free adblocking and script blocking extensions with these browsers to avoid the disruptive nonsense of the net.

thanks so much ..if you would choose in between the two...chrome or firefox ??

I don't choose. I use both.

Your own choice of a browser should be based on personal preference and compatibility with any specific add-on/extensions you prefer to add to it.

Are you a 64-bit machine, if so the Default IE 8 or 9 should be the 32-bit version? That is the version that runs by default on 64-bit machines. If you use that version then the problems might vanish.

I'd also use SW Iron over Chrome.
Same software, but without Google's spyware....

Thanks so much for all the helpful information, however I finally found out what the issue was .
It's the active-x filtering , when I turn it off it works fine, which brings me to my next "Q" ..how do I turn it off by default (means every site I can turn it off manually , but I don't want it at all !!)

Tools --> Safety --> click "ActiveX Filtering" to un-check it

thanks ..god why couldn't I have found that before ...guess I am confused with all the tools...time to get an apple...

thanks again for the valuable help, one more "Q"..I have another machine but it's IE 8 , can't locate the active x filtering ??
any suggestions ??
