I checked the archives, but no definitive answer on this one. Dell mistakenly sold my client Workgroup Edition for their Win2K Small Business Server. To remedy this and allow backup of their appserver I had them buy the Advanced Edition. I applied the AE registration and all seemed good. I also had them purchase the client agent for Win2K for their appserver and BAOF. There is only the SBS with Arcserve AE and another Windows 2000 server (appserver) with the client agent.

The job reports this message. W3905 skip node or agent (appserver) not supported in this edition.

I was using name resolution in the client agent configuration so I've changed it to TCP. I won't know the results of that change until tomorrow. Does anyone have any other ideas?

If you are using SBS 2000 then you sould use arcserve SBS edition. As far i know arcserve 2000 dont support SBS 2000 or sbs 4.5 . I had to contact sales and get the correct CD

Mark,

You mention you applied the AE registration, but did you also reinstall ARCserve ?? You have to install the Advanced Edition as WE and AE are reaaly two different versions.
