w3404 - unable to open file ec= bad Netpath

Hi
i got this error when trying to backup our scanning workstation ( win 2000 server )
i try everthing i can think on ..but i still getting the same error


We are running ArcServer 2000 ( version 7 ) enterprise edition

6.' W3404 - Unable to open file, ec=sharing violation '

ARCserve for NT does not backup open and active files. When ARCserve encounters open files, the W3404 warning message will be returned.

NOTE: If ARCserve encounters just one open file resulting in the W3404 error, your backup will be reported as incomplete.

There are several ways to handle this: The open file agent will backup open files and active files. Try to shut down the process that is holding open the active files. ARCserve has a Pre/Post command option that can be used to stop and start programs.

Well,
As the error condiction is a bad netpath. you might want to try reselecting and submitting the jobs. The reasons being that when you modify the file system (deleting a directory for instance) if the backup was a snapshot backup of that file structure (a half green box) then ARCserve will continue to try to find that particular directory and the files under it, resulting in the error seen.
Basically, go through the job, make sure all correct directories and everything are selected, and RE-SUBMIT the job. That is very important, resubmit.
