W32/Pate.b

Hello,
I just Installed McAfee Version 6.0 in my system and it immediately found the W32/Pate.b virus in the system. Although it gave me the option to clean the files it tells me that the files can't be cleaned and that they have to be deleted and replaced with back ups. Can someone tell me how I can just get rid of the virus and clean my documents, pictures, and music without having to get rid of them. I have not back ups for these items.

Hello Again.
I forgot to mention that I'm running a win XP pro system.

The virus in question is a Win32 virus and does not directly affect your documents, pictures and music files. You can delete it directly. Here's the link to the virus description from NAI:
