Every few hours my computer seems to get infected with the W32.Nimda.enc virus. my anti-virus software catches the corrupted files and quarentine them so i dont think nething bad happens to my computer. I dont know where the virus is coming from. It happens whenever my computer is connected to the internet.
What can i do?

Visit Windows update and install the security patches for your browser.

nice advice...but i download all the latest patches from windows update all the time.

Howdy:

If you are running WinME or XP, disable your System Restore.. Now, run your av scanner.. If it comes up clean, re-enable System Restore !!

Another possibility is the sites that you visit- The Nimda variants can infect certain versions of Microsoft's IIS web server that haven't been patched with the appropriate security fixes. Then, when you visit the site, the server tries to infect your computer. If you track your steps very carefully, you should be able to identify the site where this is coming from. If you do, be sure to advise the webmaster. It's amazing how many unpatched IIS servers there still are.
