Norton is detecting this in a file called Help.pif C:\Windows\system32\help.pif. NAV says it "can't repair the file" or "access to the file was denied". There is nothing that informs me how to manually remove it on their website that I can find. You can't just delete it in Explorer either you can not access the file. The system is Win XP. If anyone can help let me know.

Thank you

safer to boot to safe mode and manually remove it thru a dos prompt. Most of these viruses hide from windows meaning if you do a file find it wont actually find it.

Be aware, most trojans carry a dropper of some type. deleting one file may not do it. Get a trojan scanner (swat-it or something similar) and run it in safe mode.

Good luck
