Hi all,

I've got a problem that's been giving me headaches for over 2 days now.

Windows 2003 Server, sp2, DC, enough memory and disc space. (NO SQLSERVER BTW)

At first there were problems with Disc Management MMC, NTBackup and VSS
After a lot of reading and applying solutions found all over the web i managed to get the MMC working. There still are VSS errors trying to use NtBackup.

I tried re-registering the Shadow Copy dlls, install the msxml3.0 and 4.0, replaced the com+ database, re-installed the com+ components, executed SFC /SCANNOW, applied the "problems with vss after dcpromo" solution deleting the d42* cryptography entries in the registry, and i'm sure i forgot 2 or 3 possible solutions already.....

VSS errors 8193 and 20

I'm close to a nervous breakdown.....
Any suggestions?

Richard.

Oh, btw, I also removed the NT4 pdc there was in the network.

Well, believe it or not, but posting in this forum has solved the problem ;)

I already had the search open and tried the last thing Google found......Guess what....

All is well again!

We have to share solutions also :D
