Hi.

I installed w2k3 SBS (Small Buissness Server) on a HP ProLiant ML110 G4 and after a while the costumer found out he wanted RAID 1(Mirror).
Because HP in this case don't have a solution for installing the drivers for the raid controller without a extern floppy(HP.s own) they said i have to
slipstream the install media (It means that the drivers are included in the install and its not nessesary to use F6 when installing).
So i did this, it all went fine until it was time to enter the serial again. Then the software says, "Serial not valid"?? I'm using the same serial as before?

Does any one know something about this problem??

Yes I used nLiteOS but the problem is not about that, it's how to fix the issue with the serial becoming invalid suddenly.

Yes i of course used the original install media to make the slipstreamed cd. I wouldn't expect it to work otherwise. :)

The problem is inbuilt in the installmedia from windows, they have a kind of hardware control that checks so it shouldn't be possible to install the same media on different hardwares.. And i my case the hardware is radically changed by applying hardware raid on this motherboard. I just wonderd if someone knew how to reset the control or something?

HUH? That's not how it works. Unless you are using OEM CD's and the MoBo has changed. Installing a hardware RAID shouldn't affect the Product ID Key used at all!

Ohh sorry, I am using an OEM Licens.. But i reformatted the harddrives and made a new slipstreamed cd, so now the installation accepted the serial but i was still forced to call Microsoft to be able to activate. :)
