Hello,
I am currently moving a LAN from a
workgroup to a domain. There are
20+ machines, mostly w2K server with
xp pro, w2k pro, 2 NT 4 servers, and
1 98.
So far I've done this,
1. Set the local area connection
TCP/IP properties to use the DNS of
the Domain controller as primary and
the IP of the DHCP server
(192.168.0.1) as the secondary, and
left "Obtain an IP address
automatically"
2. the computer system properties
for the network identification to be
a member of the the domain. then
rebooted, and logged into the
domain.
3. I copied the local user profile
to the domain controller and had
mostly sucessful results; things
like mail accounts for outlook
required a little extra attention.
I am wondering about User and
machine info in the registry, should
I be importing from the parts of the
registry of the local machine into
the domain? What I am I missing in
order to move this workgroup to a
domain?
thank you for replies!
