I have many programs which require output to a text only printer with SP2 this works fine but when upgraded to SP3 the first character of each line is missing, I can get around it by outputting an extra space in my programs but other third party programs will not allow me to do this.

Has anyone else experienced this, I have seen no postings. Can anyone recommend a third party driver?

Many thanks in advance

We experienced a similar problem when upgrading to SP3. The problem seems to be that in SP2 the Generic Text Driver has a minimal margin setting when printing, while SP3 can print with a zero inch margin.

Since SP2 had a forced margin everthing would look fine, but because SP3 had no margin it would try to print edge to edge which would lose the first character or two, so that the extra space or two are needed.

To see the difference open Notepad on a SP2 and SP3 computer and look at the margin in Page Setup. Try to set the margin to zero on both computers. The SP2 computer will force a small margin, while the SP3 will have a zero margin.

I hope this helps!
