W2K Slow Backups

Using Backup Exec v9.0 to backup servers over the LAN. All servers connected to same switch using 100MB FD. Upgraded file server to W2K over the weekend, and backup rate has been reduced from 400MB/min to under 20MB/min. All other servers are still running at the 400MB rate. Have checked the driver being used for the SCSI card in the server, and it is a Micrsoft driver. SCSI card is a Adaptec AIC-7896/AIC-7897 PCI ultra2 controller. Could this be the cause of my trouble ?

Does anybody have any ideas as to what I can do to get my backup speeds back to the 400MB I was getting.
