MIS
OS - Windows 2000 Server, SP4
Software - Remote Access Services, RSA authentication
Hardware - Eicon Dive PCI 2.0 primary rate ISDN card
Problem
We have 30 virtual modems configured for dialup access which works fine most of the time, but modems eventually become 'disconnected' so they will not answer calls (it happens with all modems eventually, not just specific ones).
Sending a reset to the modom does not bring it back on-line, but either removing and re-adding, or disabling and re-enabling the disconnected modem brings them back on-line (although this does alter the Eicon Diva modem group configuration). A server reset also brings the modems back on-line, but due to the amount of access, this is not a suitable solution.
We have changed the server hardware from a Compaq DL360 to a DL380. The Eicon diva card has been replaced. The OS has been reinstalled. All firmware and drivers are latest release.
I would be grateful for any information with similar problems (i.e. if the fault exists with analog modems, different ISDN controllers, without RSA software, etc.).
Eicon & Microsoft don't seem to have a definite fix for this and we are clutching at straws as regards a solution.
Thanks in advance
Jake.
