Hi!

Is it possible to find out what is happening in the background when logging of a Windows 2000 domain ? The problem is that it seems to take a while (6 minutes) to unload a user profil. It is possible to somehow see what is being transfered or synchronized with the domain.

Thanx! Mike

There is a 3 cool tools that can help you:
1. - taskview - real monitoring of the sysytem (all threads too)
2. The best one : Novell SnapShot. Possible that you can get it from Novell.
3.try MS SysDiff too.

How big is your user's profile? Normally it must be ~500 - 1000 Kb... (1000 - maximum!)

Thing is that the personnal files are also uploaded to the domain at logout. This is usefull for a centralized solution and to have a corporate backup system ? Am I wrong ? Thing is ... is it possible to only synchronize the personnal files and not uplaod them each time ? Where can I configure what and What not I want on the logoff actions ?
Mike

As I understand you have a Roaming Profile. For a backup solution it is a good practise to redirect (using GP) Documents and Settings of aach domain user to the File server. - then you can centralizely backup all users personal; documents and settings.

Roaming profile are Always syncronized during logof. To avoid it use one of 2:
change to Mandatory profile OR
use local profile
