Brand new system asus a7n8x deluxe, ati 9500 pro, sata hd, 512 mb ram, cd-rw, dvd.

Trying to do clean install of w2k from floppies. Seems to load fine. I hit f6 to load hd drivers still fine. Gets to the press enter to install, r to repair or, some other option and nothing happens regardless of what key i press.

Any ideas?

I had this problem with a much older Asus board (p2b), that appears to be pretty naff - like every dimm I put in memory bank zero reads only at half its real size!

However back to your problem - I suspect that you will find that is an power management related problem. When the message appears about pressing F5 (?) to install other drivers, press both F4 and F6 (I can't remember which), and this will let you change the board type from ACPI to non-acpi / normal. This problem appeared when I tried to install NT4, W2K and XP on this machine.

tht,
Matt
