W2k FROM a slave hd

Will this work?
I want to COPY the W2k CD onto a freshly formated HD, set it as a SLAVE drive in my box, Format the Master HD, then Install w2k from the Slave, instead of from the CD?
This should be much faster than installing from a Cd drive!?

If this works, I can set up the slave to install other software the same way, and have a drive full of programs in Folders.

Suggestions.

Hi Bill

There's no reason why this wont work. I agree it would be much faster. I do a similar thing but rather than using a slave drive I have all my app's on a network drive and install from there. Very handy having them all in the one spot. Go for it.
