W2K Freezes After Optical Mouse/Keyboard Upgrade

I've been having periodic system freezes in WIN2K after upgrading to a Logitech cordless optical mouse and keyboard. I'll be clicking along and then all of a sudden the system is frozen. It usually comes back to life after a few minutes. A friend of mine purchased the same product for their W2K system and is having the same problem so I'm thinking it is a software issue.

I was already running the current drivers and software from Logitech, but uninstalled and reinstalled them. I updated to W2K SP4 from SP3. I've emailed Logitech and posted on Msoft boards but haven't heard back. I have noticed that I can usually "cntrl" "alt" "del" to "interrupt" the freeze and don't even have to choose a task to disable. But, my freedom is often short lived and it freezes again after the next click.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If logitech does not help return the product, and get your money back. So far I have not seen many cordless mice and keyboards that work very well. Maybe someone else has?
