Hello,
I am in the process of migrating our NT 4.0 domain to W2k...my 1st step is upgrading the DNS server to W2K DNS. We have approximately 250 machines that are using the underscore character as part of the net bios name (i.e. test_pc1).
I am concerned because the underscore character is unacceptable in DNS (we aren't really using DNS in our current NT 4.0 domain environment). Is there going to be a problem with this? If so, what is the workaround? It would be a very big deal if I need to change these names since most of our really important servers (Exchange, all File and Print servers) have the underscore as part of the naming convention.
Thank you in advance for any help.
