W2K DC Demotion problems

Hello, I am dealing with a client which is currently running 6 W2K servers all of which are Domain Controlers. I am attempting to demote 4 of those servers to members servers but everytime i run the dcpromo tool to demote the servers half way through it fails. It does this on every server i have tried it on.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Need more info. Error messages? Event Log messages? Could be problems with the Active Directory environment which you need to clean up before you can demote one or more servers.

Well before you started your demotion, have you moved all FSMO roles to one of the servers you are not planning on demoting.
If the DCPROMO process was started and failed halfway you will probably need to use NTDSUTIL in order to complete the demotion.
