Hi everyone

We need some files from C:\Winnt\sysvol (PDC), so
is it possible to do a redirect recover form a Windows 2000 SYSTEM STATE (only) with networker (6.1.3)? I thried this, but NW GUI not support this.

Is it a possible recover SYSTEM STATE into the director not original place? Like commanline recover with uasm...

Hi,

NetWorker does not support this, but I did find a work around..

(You may want to test this before using in on a production box, but it did work for me)

Do a save set recover of the system state from the command line, but recover the files to a different directory on the same box. NetWorker should put the files where you direct them to, but if my memory serves my correctly, it will probably truncate the directory names.. For example, it may create a directory called "m32", instead of system32..

Hope this helps,

I never tested this personally, but keep in mind that NW sometimes does not allow the redirection of files.

Thank ag100

You was right, command line recover works. And the system32 directory was truncate to m32 also.
I use this commnand:
#recover -vv -s server -a -d c:\restore -S ssid

But unfortunately we didn't get files what we need from c:\winnt\volsys

Hi,

And you're sure that your sysvol is located under c:\winnt? Most of the system's I've seen have it on a different drive, etc..
