w2k and novell client 4.8

I installed client 4.8 on w2k server only to have the logon screen only display the cancel option (no username, password, tree, etc). I uninstalled along with the microsoft client for novell. (all after installing active directory). I Then rebooted and am only able to get in via safe mode (no safe mode w/ networking).

Any suggestions?

uninstall all the networking components and reboot, then reinstall the microsoft networking components. I know a lot of people swear by the novell clients, but I never use them. The ms client for netware always did everything I ever needed for our netware users and it didnt slow the machine to a crawl like the netware clients did. We got rid of our last netware servers while they were still 3.11 bindery servers though. We still attach to some netware 4.11 servers and we still use the ms client for netware.

I found that this problem was caused by some DLL files being overwritten by DCOM95. If I remember correctly, the main culprit was the ole32.dll but there were a few more. There's a Novell tech bulletin on it but it did take a while to finally find it.

thanks for the posts....i deleted all networking components, rebooted, added and deleted the MS client then installed novell again and it worked. I just recieved notice of the post.

On a related theme has anyone noticed the print spooler in Win2k (spoolersv) leaks memory after the netware 4.8 client has been installed? This happens regardless of the service pack applied and on both server and professional.
