Hello, Been through all related entries within Tek-Tips but cant quite get the answer I need. The problem is as follows.
XP Workstations map a drive to a file server and each user has their local Documents folder redirected to a personal server share. These files are also available offline in the event the server is unavailable. Every day all workstations seem to disconnect from the server(not at the same time) and the only way to access files directly on the file server is to initiate a manual synch.
Whilst disconected, the server is still available via a ping or remote desktop session etc. It seems that although it tells me the server is not available, the server is in actual fact ok. To make things worse the workstations do not disconect at the same time. Some may come up with the server unavailable issue whilst other workstations are happily connected and working away. In other words each disconnection seems totaly random.
This occurs many times a day and I am also receiving delayed write errors on occasion. Not sure what to make of it.
If someone can point me in the right direction i would be very grateful.
Kind regards
BigTM.
