I managed to reproduce (only partially) the behavior mentioned in my previous thread, this way:
1 I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 by using a very old kit (from 2019)
2 Then I started a bunch of Windows updates
After all the updates finished, by clicking the Start button, nothing happened. The only way to shut down/restart the computer was by using CTRL+ALT+DEL
The main difference was that I managed to see the list of processes from Task Manager (wasn't an empty windows)
The experiment was made on a different computer, but I noticed the similarities.
My conclusion is that is nothing to fear of, neither a virus nor a corrupt file.
