vxworks ip address 1

Hi all, our networking guys changed some things around and now need to change ip address for vxworks. How do I do that? I have tried numerous loads but cant see the ip address.Any help is appreciated. Have a good weekend.AJK

I tried that but dont see the address that used to work for accessing the vxworks - nortel admin. I need to find the old address and give it a new one. I am not sure where to look. Thank you John Poole.AJK

I don't think you can change that IP address. Isn't that the one that starts 120.X.X.X. I was told that was Nortel's way into the system and only they use that IP address.

If you print the IP addresses in a signalling server you will see these, but I can't remember how on the PBX.

might be looking for the otm ? server..vx works don't ring a bell, that is the only ip in the switch that i know of. the cp has two and the otm has one, symposiumn etc.. you've only got one transiever prt cpu that i have seen

Where are you trying to connect to vxworks? This is normally a loading portion of the system, not something you would connect into via telnet or ethernet. There are differing versions based on the device from the PBX to ITG\VGMC's. What is the use of the IP address you are trying to get changed, maybe it's not called what you are thinking.

hi, just found some info out. I have to communicate directly with the MIRAN card with a laptop and special cable. I will let you know how this gets resolved. Thank you all for helping me. AJK

vxworks is possibly the name of the shortcut ... is that the case.
other than that VxWorks is the operating system for the M1 system

vxworks is the programming portion of items like the Miran and ITG and Media Cards. In this portion you can get in and update files, prepare firmware upgrades and manually set IP addresses.

There is a vxWorks Shell that you can get into but it takes a developer login and password.

I have them for the ITG card but not for the Miran.

Another tidbit: It is for remote agent observe. The customer can dial in and monitor the agents that are dealing with their customers. The number and password are accessed via the ip address. Have a good weekendAJK
