i have an exabyte vxa 320 hoocked up to an adaptec scsi card 2930 ultra.
sometimes it reconizes tapes and sometimes it doesn't and not it doesn't recognize tapes at all. please help me.

I have a Autotapeloader with VXA-320 drive.
I bought it after reading all the good reports about it.
Now I am thinking I should have never bought it. It is a pain to set it up and the Exabyte/Tandberg tech support people always blame the issues on the backup software.
Just make sure you are using the latest Adaptec SCSi drivers and the latest firmware for the VXA drive from Exabyte.

actually for us it was the backup software
We were using NTbackup and now since we switched to Symantec Backup exec it has not been much of a problem
