I was using my VXA-1 tape drive with a U320 controller on XP. I've since upgraded to Vista x64 and the controller is no longer supported. I need to find something that uses regular PCI, and there are no U320 controllers supported by Vista on PCI. Can I switch to a U160 controller and continue to use my VXA-1 tape drive?

Bottom line, my question is about what VXA-1 tape drives actually use (U160 or U320) and if I can plug the drive into either one with any success. I understand that U160 is slower, but I think that's as fast as you can go on a 32-bit PCI slot anyway.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.
