Hello,

My palm Vx was runnig fine for 2 years. It is full of vital medical information. Recently I noticed my battery was low, not dead but low. Within 2-3 days I went to recharge it/ use it. Upon turning it on, it wouldn't I got some occasional blank screen flicker with gray lines flashing when i press any button. I have tried soft and hard resets but not screen response, except the occasional flicker. Help!! I need this info. I have tried recharging it and then start but all t does is show flicker. Otherwise, no logo, nothing. The backlight initially worked as well.

Help urgently fast.

Sincerely.

Also, can someone create a FAQ for what to do in differnt situations when you palm crashes.

When was the last time you did a hot sync?

You may be able to get a different palm and put your hot sync info into that palm.

Also when your palm is "in the craddle" or "on the USB cable" it should be getting its power from the PC and not the battery. So it may function while "plugged in" so to speak.

Good luck,

My related problem with my Vx was a dead unit, no display caused by a drained battery during an inadvertant long period off the cradle. The unit come back on in a hard reset condition within an hour or so on the cradle & resyncing.

Now the battery appears charged, but drains quickly. Any tips on changing the battery?

Aloha, from Hawaii to all you Palm PDA users!

I recently was given a Palm Vx and need to replace the battery. Can anyone help me with a documented approach to safely opening the case, exchanging the battery with a Li-ion unit and re-bonding the case?

I was informed that a hair dryer or heat gun is needed to soften the glue for both opeing and closing the case, and the the device must be clamped under pressure until it cools, after the battery exchange is complete.

Is this overalll description correct? How much more do I need to know to perform this operation myself?

Thanks for your time, everyone. I look forward to a great response.

Respectfully,

Randall Peterson
