I have a question about what VTP (VLAN trunking protocol) is really used for? I know that it advertises the VLAN config from the VTP server to the VTP clients, and the transparent mode just forwards, and doesn't change. But, when the server sends out its broadcasts, does it just send out the VLAN ID's or does it also send out the VLAN configuration for each interface? What I want to know, is that if a client recieves a VTP advertisement from the VTP server, will it change all the VLAN config on each interface in the client switch?
EX: SW1(server): VLAN 1 - int e0/1 - e0/5
VLAN 2 - int e0/6 - e0/12
Trunking - int fa0/26, fa0/27
SW2(client): ?????
