Is there a way to stop vti_cnf files from being generated in non FP folders on my site. I run a forum with Webbbs which is perl based. All messages are stored as files. The problem is the host server has a minimum file size of 4k. vti_cnf files are being created for all my messages and using more space than I can afford.
I erased the vti_cnf files and everything worked fine. I freed up 30meg of space. But when I published a change to my front page files, all the vt-_cnf files in my other folders were re-generated during the "listing pages" parts of the publish process. The 30meg came back in an instant.
Is there a way to stop these files from being generated. IS there a way to disassociate some of the folders from the FP web?
Thanks,
Dwight
