The voice compression potion for a VSU card is stated when you initiate the VSU card (RAEQI). The parameter COMPR (optional) is used to determine wether it's compressed or not.
Also from Alex:
"Contents of the VSU board will not be played if the compression option is switched from enabled to disabled or vice versa."
Not sure if VCCOI command will work, if you don't have any important announcements it's worth trying maybe?
Unfortunately i'm unable to take the risk of loosing the announcements by trying the VCCOI command.
I dont think this would work anyway without COMPR set on the RAEQI.
It take it the only way around it is to end all the RA configuration, which is not good as there is a lot of it!
Then re-configure it all using compression=yes.
When trying to record a message, i get response "no memory available" and i get bit 4 in the blocking field, then you get RTNR when dialling the VSU, untill the card is restarted. Obviously no speech space left.
I now need to implement compression on the VSU2 in order to get12mins speech. Which at present according to Alex has only 3.5 mins speech.
The question is "Do i need to totally end all the RA comands, to re-assign the VSU (raeqi:compression=yes)and re-record all messages,In order to increase my speech time to 12 mins"?
Or can i overight the raeqi and rerecord the messages, and get my 12 mins this way?
I think the safest option is to end all of them. Otherwise you could risk having 3.5 minutes of uncompressed speech taking up space which you can't use and possibly can't end??
You're going to have to re-record them all anyway so you may as well do it cleanly.
