VSTO Outlook Calendar Contact Attachment

I have a plugin I'm creating that creates a new calendar item from the current contact (contact window being open - not from the list).

I can add the contact as an attachment just fine, but it is a copy of the contact. Any changes made to it are saved to that copy and not the actual contact in the contact list.

Is there a way to add a link or a reference to the main contact instead that would allow the user to click on it and open up the real contact?
