VSS6.0 - Problem with Word

Hi

Using VSS 6.0 (sp6) on both W2k and WXP pro clients.

On many clients, occasionally, and somewhat randomly, when a word doc is opened from sourcesafe ("view sourcesafes copy" as opposed to checking out), Word will open but there will be no document open within it.

I appear to be able to get around this by having Word already open, before attempting to open the VVS doc. Similarly I have one particular user whose VSS application simply hangs when attempting to open a VVS word doc. Again though, in this instance if MS Word was already open, the VSS doc would open OK.

(Using MS Word 2002 in all cases).

This appears to be some kind of bug/known error. Has anyone else come accross it and/or know of a fix?

Have you tried adding it to your binary file types under the tools, options menu in VSS?
