Have received this message every day in the past couple weeks. This problem cropped up after a restart of our Win 2k3 Servers. No new hardware or software had been installed, we needed to restart the server one day and the backup afterwards keeps failing due to the following error. The computer in question is an HP Proliant DL360 G3 with a 2.4ghz Xeon processor and 2.5gb RAM. I checked the services running and VSS is started and set to run manually, the same as our other servers.
-----------------------------
Backup - CLRLAMMAP1
OFO: Initialization failure on: "\\CLRLAMMAP1\Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
VSS Snapshot error. StartSnapshotSet was called when another snapshot set in in the process of being created.
The error number associated with this problem is, Final error: 0x80042316 - 0x80042316 (2147754774). A search of the Veritas Knowledge Base produced no information on this problem.
-----------------------------
Why are two StartSnapshotSets being called? The VSS service is running on all our servers and they are all being backed up but only this one server has this problem. Thanks for reading.
