VSS Opens Multiple InterDev Windows

When my team uses Visual SourceSafe, checking out a web page opens a new version of Visual InterDev. This can get rather annoying when you eventually have to close a window after openning page after page. Has anyone seen a fix to this? Any help is greatly appreciated. ________________________________________
