Vshield icon disappearing from system tray

I have a machine that the vshield and virus scan console icons are disappearing from the system tray. It is VS4.5.1 SP1 on W98. If you place the mouse over the icons, they disappear and sometimes it lets you click on them before the go away. Has anyone seen this one before?
