Hi

I'm trying to configure vsftpd, i have it pretty much there but I want people that log in ONLY to be able to access a specific directory such as /var/ftp/

I want to login with my user name, I don't want to change my home directory for general OS access.

The only way I can think to do it is create a new user just for FTP and chroot the home directory and set the home directory to /var/ftp/ - i don't like this because it means each user is going to have 2 logins.

Can you do what I'm trying to do? You can do it in Windows you just set the users ftp home directory and this doesn't affect the users "My Documents" (home dir)

Any takers?
