I have done tons of reading from a google search on "550 Permission Denied" errors! I have not made any changes lately, or done any updates, etc. This morning it just "started" happening where users can copy FROM their directories, but can not copy INTO. They get "550 Permission Denied" errors. Even after giving them total privilages, it still doesn't work.
The .conf file looks fine(like I said, I haven't changed anything)

Start an ftp session from a client, then use ps on the server to see what userid the ftpd is running under.

ericbrunson,

here are all of the lines from the ps -ef command that are related to ftp:

root 3692 1 0 Jan31 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/vsftpd /etc/vsftpd/vsf

501 4884 3692 0 02:53 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/vsftpd /etc/vsftpd/vsf

503 4886 4884 0 02:53 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/vsftpd /etc/vsftpd/vsf

H E L P! ! !

forgot to tell you in the last post, the 501 is the ftpsecure user that I created for the non-privilaged user, the 503 is the user that I was logged in as. and 3692 is root I guess

3692 is the process id of the master ftp session. What are the directory permissions and ownership of the directory you are trying to upload to? Also, are there any log messages when your upload fails?
