In previous iterations of VS, this could be done via "Create Emergency Disk" wizard or whatever, but I can't locate that in VSE7. I'm sure there's a way to do this MANUALLY, but I'm being lazy. Your help is much appreciated.

Carpe diem, procrastination is the thief of time...

Just found a doc on NAI KB saying there's a utility called Clean Boot 1.0 on the product CD. Unfortunately, I don't have the product CD so I need another method.

In the AVERT Tools page, download the Emergency 4.x files. These files are equivalent to the emergency disk that you used to be able to make with the older versions. It's updated BTW. Just copy them to a bootable floppy.

... been there, done that, made that mistake too, see where I am now.

Cheers, AVChap. (Have a star.)

The steps listed in the instruction file are:

Download the latest V4 DAT files (DAILYSCAN.ZIP) and the "emergency BOOT" files (EMSCAN.ZIP).

Boot from a 'clean' (uninfected) Windows diskette.

Copy 5 DAT files LICENCE & MESSAGE DATs from EMSCAN.ZIP and all 3 DATs and SCANPM.EXE from DAILYSCAN.ZIP to your C:\ drive.

Change to a "C:" prompt ("C:>") and run: SCANPM *.* /SUB /CLEAN

BoyHope,

do you have the link to the "Instruction File" ?
thanks
