Is there a service pack for VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 that will upgrade it to version 7.1?

Found an article from the NAI FAQ that said VSE 7.1 will be released as full install and as a service pack to assist those who have rolled out VSE 7.0 already. But have not been able to find the service pack.

I've also been having problem with the custom install package I've developed for VSE 7.1. When I run it on a station that has VSE 7.0 I lose the custom settings for log file locations.

They return to default settings. If I run the same package on station without 7.0 the log file locations remain at custom settings. I found article that said you have to uninstall 7.0 before installing 7.1 or this would happen. However, I've not been able to find how to modify install package to insure 7.0 is uninstalled before 7.1 is installed. I've tried modifying the UnInst.ini file (adding section for VSE 7.0 and changing the bSkipProduct= setting) but have not been successful.

Does anyone have nay info on VSE service pack or on modifying the 7.1 install package to force the uninstall of 7.0 ?

Thanks.

Use the McAfee Installation Designer 7.1. This should help.

... been there, done that, made that mistake too, see where I am now.

Thanks for the response, AVChap.

The custom install package I'm working with was made with McAfee Install Designer 7.1.

I've heard back from NAI since my original post. They said they dropped the release of the service pack and released VSE 7.1 only as a full install. They also confirmed that installing VSE 7.1 from a custom install package on top of VSE 7.0 (that was also installed from a custom install package) would return some settings back to default. In my case the location of the log files returned to default settings. They also confirmed that uninstalling VSE 7.0 before installing VSE 7.1 would resolve the problem. However, they said there was no way to incorporate the call to uninstall VSE 7.0 in the 7.1 install package.

The log file location settings can be changed through ePO if your running version 3 but you can't change them with ePO v. 2.51.
