Hi

Hello,

I have a problem on my vio client, I can't see anymore the disks on the vscs2,
lspath|grep -i fail
Failed hdisk4 vscsi2
Failed hdisk5 vscsi2
Failed hdisk6 vscsi2
Failed hdisk7 vscsi2
Failed hdisk8 vscsi2
Failed hdisk9 vscsi2
Failed hdisk10 vscsi2
Failed hdisk11 vscsi2
Failed hdisk12 vscsi2
Failed hdisk13 vscsi2
Failed hdisk14 vscsi2
Failed hdisk15 vscsi2
Failed hdisk16 vscsi2

On the VIO everything is fine I ahve no error the disks are SAN/EMC but I can see them and powermt display dev=all is fine with no error.
We have rebooted the VIO, run several time cfgmgr or cfdev on the VIO but nothing changed on the Client (we did run a cfgmgr, remove some diskks and rerun cfgmgr etc...) no change I can't see the disks and still the same message with the lspath command and error on the errpt after reboot of (one of) the VIOS :
ED995F18 0306114407 P S vscsi2 Permanent fatal error

Do you have meet this kind of problem before ?
I know that I will have to reboot the client but ... later as it is a Production server.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Show

lsattr -E -l hdisk4

please?

If hcheck_interval is set to 0 (default), the paths that are "Failed" now (perhaps due to one VIOS rebooting or some other problem) do not become "Enabled" again automatically.

On the VIO client, you need to

chdev -a hcheck_interval=60 -l hdiskX

for all VSCSI disks. But you can only do that with the VGs varied off.

To manually turn the paths back on now, use chpath command:

chpath -s enable -l hdiskX -p vscsi2

for all VSCSI disks. See also man page for chpath.
