I am curious to know if anyone has come across this same problem. I logged a call with McAfee support and still haven't heard back from them so I want to see if this is specific to my install or to everyone elses.
McAfee posted a new Scan Engine upgrade a few weeks ago, version 4.2.60. I tested the new scan engine on VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 and VirusScan 4.5.1 SP1. When I right click on the VShield icon for both software and select About to display the versions, the scan engine reports 4.2.60 for both software.
Checking my ePO 2.5.1.213 reports, all of my test clients running VirusScan 4.5.1 SP1 (3 PCs) reports the new scan engine version. All of my test clients running VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 (3 PCs) reports the old scan engine version, 4.2.40. I've tried issuing a Full Properties refresh and tried deleting the FullProps.INI file all with no luck.
I am curious to know if people have seen this problem as well on their ePO 2.5.1/VirusScan Enterprise clients or if this is isolated to my PCs.
Thanks!
