Hi,
I have recently installed Visual Studio 2005 and am trying some of the tutorial apps form BObj's site..
My problem is that the only .NET references that show up are v10 Crystal not the XI R2 versions..
I have installed the full set of components for CR XI R2 and all the client components for BOE XI R2 ( so I can use the BOEXI samples as well)...I can browse to the
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\managed
location ( and its dotnet2 sub) and manually add the required references but the docs indicate that they should show up in the .NET tab when I use the'add reference' option in VS, without having to do that browsing..
What have I missed? ..Thanks..

The original version of VS2005 came with the Crystal 10 assemblies. It sounds like your VS needs to be updated.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Also, it helps to install Crystal AFTER installing VS 2005 (I know...it's a pain when you've had Crystal installed for a while because I think you have to uninstall and reinstall...) That should register the new Crystal assemblies in VS without having to update VS.

Hi,
Thanks all..
It was necessary to reinstall CR XI R2 and the Client tools for BOE XI R2 ( and all the SPs, etc..) -
( Not fun, specially BOEXI which may have the worst install process I have ever seen - it is no fun watching the expansion of the zip files while the progress meter indicates 0 seconds left !!! [banghead] )

Thanks again.
