VS 4.5.1 & TC 6.10 DAT's From ePO Respoitory 1

Hi All,

I've recently installed McAfee ePO v3 and am currently setting up our Anti Virus environment.

I've successfully managed to create and schedule a task that updates the DAT's for VirusScan Enterprise 7.0 from the ePO repository. My problem is that I cannot seem to do the same thing for either VirusScan 4.5.1 or VirusScan
ThinClient 6.1.0.

Can updating take place, from the repository, for these 2 products? If so can someone please explain how?

add .nap file of 4.5.1 to software repository if you want manage VS 4.5.1.

Idem for TC

verify the files update.ini and delta.ini are storage into ePO 3.0 repository for 4.5.1 updates (+ .upd, zip etc...)

When you do the pull task, make sure that you select support for legacy products, which are what VS 4.51 and VSTC 6.1 are.

Hi,

Firstly many thanks for the replies. I've confirmed that the .NAP's for both products are already installed in the repository.

Forgive my ignorance, but I don't know where to look for the update.ini and delta.ini files also I don't know how to select support for the legacy products.

Any help would be most graciously received.

Hi:

When you schedule new "pull task" on ePO Server, second screen include "support for legacy products" option.

This option make to copy update.ini and delta.ini files into Update package for vs 4.5.1 and TC products update.

This package is valid for 7.0 too.

you can see this files in Network Associates\ePO\3\DB\Software. VS 4.5.1 and tc use the .ini files and 7.0 use .xml files allocated into this folder.

Hi guys,

I've managed to set-up a server task for updating the Master repository (with support for legacy product enabled).

My problem, still, is that the legacy products are not having the DAT's updated. Can someone tell me what type of task I should be creating for VirusScan 4.5.1 and TC 6.1.0?

Hi,

Task type is "AutoUpdate" for product "VirusScan v4.51 for Windows".

This task update my 4.5.1 with any problem.

I don´t manage TC, but Task Type are the same.
