Help...I'm running Netware 5.1, SP4 on a Compaq Proliant ML370, with mirrored OS and raid 5 VOL1.

Performed extensive compaq diagnostics on hardware with a clean bill of health. I've run vrepair numerous times on SYS volume, yet after a reboot I keep getting ~30 errors about a non purged file named _48.AAB. Even after a loadstage 1 boot, the system generates another .AAB file which then gets deleted so it gets held in purge.

Called both Compaq and Novell, both claim the file doesn't belong to their side. Trouble is each reboot will generate another file.

Anyone have clues on what this is about??

Thanks,

ividal

Which volume does this occur on? Sys? the boot sector? Could it be a virus?

Yes, the file reappears as a file to be purged on the Sys volume. (Vol 1 vrepaired just fine, no more errors) Norton Anti Virus doesn't report it as a virus.

The aab file could be related to zenworks import utility.
Load server manually from DOS with:
C:\nwserver\server -na -ns
Type loadstage 1
wait a sec, then type startup.ncf
now type mount sys:
Is it there now ? Or only once java is loaded ?
