Hello, I have a business in two different cities. I would like to create a VPN between the two offices. I have three PCs running at each location with DSL for internet access on both of them. The three computer at each location are networked using a linksys router. I would like to know what other equipment might be necessary to create a VPN, what equipment that I have right now would be useful and what type of configuration needs to be done. I am just starting in networking, I have basic background but would like to get more experience in setting up my VPN

What Linksys router and do your offices have a static IP. If you need to buy new equipment what is your budget?

Linksys Wireless Router (WRT54G), no the offices have dynamic IPs, and my budget will be between $2000 - $3000. I have a LAN at each location running with three computers (XP Machines).

Then I would suggest getting the Cisco 871 Router is will let you create a VPN between your 2 location with dynamic IP's.

Do I need two routers like one for each location or just with one?? And also about the configuration to allow VPN can you help out since I do not have much experience in CISCO

Yes you will need two, one for each location. The routers have a web interface and is fairly straight forward. As for helping sure but I have never done a dynamic VPN only using a Static IP.
