VPN XP Pro to XP Pro delay when trying to connect from different PC

Hi

I have successfully set up my server (running XP Pro) to accept an incomming VPN.

We have two laptops that can connect to the server (obviously not at the same time) but there is a delay between one machine disconnecting the VPN to the other one being allowed to re-establish the VPN.

Basically - one laptop can establish and disconnect from the VPN numerous times. If the other laptop then tries to connect it recieves the familiar Error 721. This goes on for about 10 minutes. After this time the second laptop can go straight in - and the roles are now reversed, where the second laptop can go in and out as much as it likes - and (once the second laptop has disconnected ) the first laptop can no longer connect!

It appears as though there is some time out occuring - but god knows where!

why dont you use server 2000 or 2003 and install routing and remote access. It would make life easier.

Nope - haven't got access to server 2000 or 2003 hence the reason why we were trying it on XP!
