Hi,

After dialing in succesfully into a W2K RAS server using PPTP vpn i receive a vlan address in the same range as the range my lan networkcard has. So doing an ipconfig results in my DHCP assigned LAN address of my NIC in 10.0.0.x range and an address of my PPTP connection which is alse in a 10.0.0.x range. The thing is if i ping 10.0.0.1 i want to ping the host from the network i'm dialing in not the network where i physicly am connected to.

Changing assigned ranges is out of the question !!!

Thanks in advance

You need to add static routes to your routing table for each machine you need to connect to in the non-local lan. If you have a machine locally with the same IP as one you need to connect to remotely, you can only connect to one or the other, without changing the route.

For example, if your lan IP is 10.0.0.1 and your PPTP assigned address is 10.0.0.5, and the machine you need to connect to in the non-local lan is 10.0.0.8, then you need to add the route

route add 10.0.0.8 10.0.0.5
