VPN workgroup file sharing

I have made a vpn connection to a windows xp pro machine from a windows xp pro machine and the connection works great! The problem I am having is that I can not see the other XP machine in the my network places? I have a linksys router and I have port forwarded all the required ports for vpn connections. Any help would be great!!!
