Hi all,
Im running a VPN server on a windows server 2008 enterprise. Ive got it working through lan with computers that are directly connected to it.
However when someone tries to connect from outside my local network. It is stuck at "verifying user name and password" next I get a message about opening GRE port 47.
My router has a DMZ open to the server so it cant be blocked by a router firewall. So I thought it would be the firewall on the server "windows firewall (with latest updates)". However when I open the advanced windows firewall control settings. There is as well as in in-bound and out-bound rules a rule that says that the GRE protocol is allowed from any computer.
I manually added port 1723 as udp and tcp.
Hope you profs know more then I do cause im stuck.
Grtz
