Hello all, I recently set up a VPN branch to branch using a shared key. Using Nortel Connectivity boxes.

Everything works great except when I try to ping my server on the other side. It connects but usually times out the first time then when i ping again it loses 1 or 2 packets. I can still do things such as remote backups from server to server but is this an issue i should be concerned about and what could be a fix.

Thank you all!!

The reason it loses the packets the first time is because the VPN is not established, the boxes then establish a connection and you get a response.

Give remote backups a try and see how it goes. Hope you are not backing up too much!
