I have been searching for a solution to this, and although I've seen the problem posted a few times with possible solutions to try (see thread779-764614), there was never a resolution. Here's my problem - VPN always worked fine for years, all of a sudden, stopped working for some reason. Updated drivers, Windows, reloaded SP2, etc, deleted and installed VPN several times, always pick VPN, not dialup, when complete the wizard, connection type always comes up as dialup, and status is "unavailable - device missing". I've tried some things I found on the web in other forums, such as running devcon.exe, installing miniports, but still no luck. Also, device manager reports a problem with the devices, but when I try to uninstall and reinstall, it won't let me, says needs for bootup. Please help!!

Sounds like a Windows problem...have you tried deleting/reinstalling drivers/devices in Safe Mode? Virus scan/malware?
If you have a decent back up from when it was working, I'd just reload Windows if nothing else...

Thanks Burt, but I tried everything you mentioned, still no go. In fact, in safe mode, won't allow uninstall of driver/devices. I haven't used the VPN for a few weeks, I'd rather not go back that far to restore. Any other ideas?
